Aloe treatmt for colitis

I have recently read about Aloe helping with colitis,  I prefer a natural treatment...all medications I have been on have so many side effects, it is scaring me....I got this problem from medications for gout.Has there been good results posted anywhere through your forum on Aloe?  Sandi

i too have  heard about aloe vera being good for UC from my homepath. I gave it a go about two weeks ago and have taken a tablespoon of "Biogenic Aloe Vera Juice" in the night since. Initially, you experience absolute hell the day after you first take it. But after that, its smooth sailing and definaetely something that people should try out. I dont think aloe is a "miracle cure" as such, but rather it provides much needed relief. I've got my final school exams in a weeks time, and I'm hoping the relief I;m receiving from aloe vera juice continues.

The actual relieve you can experience with any aloe product depends on how pure the product is itself.  Many companies in order to sell their aloe product cheaper, will decrease the amount of pure aloe and substitute it with other additives, therefore decreasing the desired effect.  In a nutshell, the more pure the aloe product, the more expensive it gets, but the results will be a success.  The purest product I have found on the net is aloeelite.com
